ADVISING GOVERNMENTS ON NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE EU
In 2020 he advised on WTO reform, EU trade policy, and the ratification of the EU’s bilateral free trade agreement with Canada (CETA).

For many years Marco has been asked to advise governments and government agencies on their negotiations with the EU on bilateral trade agreements. For understandable reasons, this work cannot be publicized. It is fair to say though that he has been involved, one way or another, in various major trade negotiations of the EU in the past 15 years, often on technical issues. In his academic work, Marco has analyzed the EU’s policy choices in its bilateral and multilateral trade negotiations.
